Jessie is currently the Art Teacher at Marshall Intermediate Center in South Bend, Indiana. She graduated from Herron School of Art and Design, IUPUI in 2006 with a BFA in General Fine Arts). Her areas of specialization are in Sculpture and Photography. She then obtained her Professional Educator's Teaching License in High School Art through the Saint Mary-of-the-Woods Distance Education Program in High School Art Education in May, 2008.

Jessie has exhibited her work in The Herron School of Art Sculpture Show in 2005 and 2006. She also created multiple works that were modeled in The Herron School of Art Wearable Art Show in 2005. Jessie displayed a public postmodern sculpture in the Indiana Convention Center for the Annual Mayors Convention in 2005. She has also shown and sold work in the Crawfordsville Regional Juried Art Exhibit in 2004, 2005, and 2006. She is planning on participating in the upcoming 2008 exhibit as well.

While at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College, Jessie maintained a 4.0 GPA (out of 4.0) and was named in the Highest Honors List. While at Herron School of Art, she was on the Dean’s list from 2002 through 2006. She also received the Joseph Van Sickle Scholarship in 2005 at Herron. She received the Ian Geoffrey Hudson Young Artist Award in 2005 from the Crawfordsville Regional Juried Art Exhibit.

Jessie believes that art is an important component to every student’s curriculum. She believes the arts should be made available to every student and not just the talented. She knows that an education rich in the arts can make a positive difference in every student’s life. She enjoys art so much, she wants to pass that joy onto others.
